Need to trim the corners off and grind it down, and I think I'm going to coat it with that Plasti-Dip from Harbor Freight. Otherwise, I think it is perfect!
DIY Driver's Backrest
Took a piece of mild steel flat stock and banged the bloody heck out of it over an I beam. The backrest bracket is sandwiched between the fender and the driver seat rear anchor.

Hey V-Twin Chic,
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing you're from the Youngstown/Warren area from your blog. I was born and raised there before I moved to North Carolina. I am going for the DIY Driver's Backrest like you made because I have a fender rack as well. It is hard to tell from the picture. Is that a 2 or 3 inch wide piece of 1/8 flat steel? Did you use the Plasti-Dip? If so did it work well?
Thanks for your help and stay warm,
Jess
